Don't you just love when you get inspiration from the smallest things and it becomes an insanely amazing recipe? I know I sure do. I had a box of Vanilla Shreddies that had been in my cupboard for quite a while, and seeing as I don't like to eat cereal for breakfast, and I like to make more complex breakfast's I knew I had to use up those Shreddies somehow. I still have my gigantic box of Rice Krispies that I wanted to use up as well, so what better way to use up two ingredients then to mix them together! These Rice Krispies came out so incredibly fantastic. When they came out of the oven I had four GIANT pieces. I couldn't stop eating them, I fell completely and utterly in love with these colourful pieces of love. These are a must try, not only for children, but for the children inside of adults as well! They are glorious, really.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cups vanilla Shreddies
- 4 cups Rice Krispies
- 1 bag of large marshmallows + more if you're feeling adventurous
- Sprinkles til excitement ends
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. When melted, add marshmallows and stir until melted. Remove from heat. Add cereal and mix well. If using sprinkles, add sprinkles and mix well (add more, and some more). Pour contents into baking dish and spread evenly. When cooled, cut into squares and serve.

I have made I don't know how many recipes now with the SAME box of Rice Krispies. This is the biggest box I have ever seen in my life, I swear it's bigger than a Costco box, and it just never seems to empty. I mean, no one in my house eats cereal, but I mean, as many desserts as I have made there is still SO much left. This however, was one of the first recipes I had made with the box, and boy were they amazing. Really, I didn't even follow a recipe, I just threw whatever I was craving into the pot, and voila, excellence! They didn't really stay together at first, so I had to press down really hard and freeze them for a while, then they were more of a Nature Valley type bar. I loved them, from the seeds to the fruits to the smoothe creamy peanut butter, oh it was blissful! I will definitely make these again when I get a Rice Krispie craving.
